When the stakes are high, our appetites for risk and creativity can shrink to the size of peanuts. Faced with the possibility of building something to impact other people's lives and disrupt problematic systems of old, it might be tempting to choose the path of least resistance and change nothing – to follow everything that's been done before.
But if we gave into that reluctance, nothing would really change. There's a balance to be drawn between drawing on the knowledge of those who have come before us and creating with conviction to solve the challenges of our time.
